The Tamang Buddhist Federation Nepal, established on July 9th, 2014, is a non-governmental, non-profit, and non-political organization committed to the empowerment and preservation of the Tamang Buddhist indigenous tribal community of Nepal. This federation is not just a single entity but a collective alliance, formed by the collaboration of multiple Buddhist organizations. These organizations have come together to work as a unified team, dedicated to the common cause of safeguarding and promoting the rich cultural and spiritual legacy of the Tamang people.

Our Mission

The mission of the Tamang Buddhist Federation Nepal is deeply rooted in the principles of compassion, wisdom, and community service. The organization strives to uplift the Tamang community by promoting Buddhist education and moral values, which are seen as the bedrock of a harmonious and enlightened society. The Federation is dedicated to providing the Tamang people with the tools and opportunities they need to improve their quality of life, focusing on areas such as education, cultural preservation, environmental conservation, and humanitarian support. By engaging enthusiastic youth, expert monks, and dedicated disciples from various Buddhist backgrounds, the Federation works tirelessly to develop the Tamang community into a self-reliant and flourishing society. The Federation’s mission is not just about preserving the past but also about guiding the Tamang people towards a future where they can prosper while staying true to their cultural and spiritual roots.

Our Objectives

Promote Self-Sufficiency

Empower the Tamang community to become self-reliant, economically, socially, and spiritually, while maintaining their unique cultural and spiritual identity.

Preserve Cultural Heritage

Protect, promote, and share the rich traditions, rituals, and cultural diversity of the Tamang community, including the Buddhist philosophy and Sambhota script.

Enhance Education

Focus on improving educational opportunities within the Tamang community, recognizing education as the key to unlocking the community’s potential and guiding them towards a life of fulfillment and harmony.

Instill Moral Values

Promote Buddhist teachings and moral values to instill a sense of purpose and direction among the Tamang people, fostering a society rooted in spiritual integrity and ethical living.

Foster Economic Opportunities

Collaborate with local communities, authorities, and stakeholders to create economic opportunities that support the long-term sustainability and prosperity of the Tamang community.

Support Environmental Initiatives

Support Environmental Initiatives: Engage in environmental conservation efforts to ensure that the Tamang community can thrive in a sustainable and ecologically balanced environment.

Prevent Social Vices

Address and prevent social issues such as sexual harassment, drug abuse, addiction, gambling, and obscenity, working to eliminate societal distortions and contribute to the creation of a welfare-oriented nation.

Promote Unity and Collaboration

Strengthen the unity within the Tamang community and build mutual coordination, harmony, and understanding with local and national stakeholders to achieve collective goals.

Safeguard Collective Rights

Safeguard Collective Rights: Establish a purely religious and social organization dedicated to safeguarding the collective rights, interests, values, and recognition of the Tamang community.

Build a Civilized Society

Strive to create an advanced, capable, and civilized society for the Tamang people, deeply rooted in their cultural and spiritual values while embracing the opportunities of the modern world.
