Biography of Nirmal Lama Moktan Tamang
Nirmal Lama Moktan Tamang is a deeply devoted Buddhist practitioner and an exemplary follower of Vajrayana Buddhism, born on 5th Chaitra 2051 B.S. (March 19, 1995) in Temal Rural Municipality, Kavre District, Nepal. He was born into a Buddhist family as the son of Chegu Lama Tamang and Taishya Lama Tamang, who nurtured his spiritual inclination from an early age.

Spiritual Journey and Empowerments
Nirmal Lama’s journey into Buddhism began with a profound commitment to the teachings of the Dharma. His quest for spiritual enlightenment led him to receive the sacred Phowa Practice empowerment on 20th June 2017, under the direct guidance of His Eminence Sange Rangjung Rinpoche, one of the most revered teachers in Vajrayana Buddhism. This month-long empowerment focused on the Transference of Consciousness at the Time of Death, a pivotal practice in preparing the mind for death and liberation.

Lho Sum Retreat: A Path to Transformation
Demonstrating exceptional dedication, Nirmal Lama undertook the arduous Lho Sum Retreat—a retreat spanning 3 years, 3 months, and 3 days—starting on 26th August 2018 and concluding on 31st October 2021. Under the guidance of H.E. Sange Rangjung Rinpoche, this retreat is regarded as one of the most intensive spiritual practices in Vajrayana Buddhism. It involves rigorous meditation, reflection, and self-discipline, aimed at cultivating wisdom, compassion, and a profound connection to the enlightened nature of the mind.

During this retreat, Nirmal Lama devoted himself entirely to the teachings of the Dharma, isolating himself from worldly distractions to achieve a deep spiritual transformation.
